My first yoga teacher training required a daily 10 minute meditation practice for the length of the 6 month program. I was surprised that I suddenly had more patience with my family. I could think more clearly. My attention span was better. I could get more work done in shorter periods of time. I joined the Breathing Deeply meditation program to deepen and expand my meditation practice. I now understand that there are different meditation techniques. They all help us let go of the myriad of distractions that flow through the mind and focus on one object of attention or stance of awareness.
As a meditation mentor, my goal is to help you find a meditation technique that works for you.
Not everyone responds to the same techniques. Some people prefer to focus on compassion, others on their thoughts, others on the breath, others on a mantra and so on. My goal as a meditation mentor is to help you find a meditation technique that works for you. I’ll start by teaching you a short meditation to do every day and we’ll find a way to fit it into your schedule. We will then regroup at our next session to discuss how it worked for you and how we should progress. My goal is to help you find a meditation practice that will help you evolve to a place where you have more ease in your everyday life.
