Mindful Movement at 10:00 am every other Monday in person at Dogwood Studio and online via Zoom. Sign up through Dogwood Studio.
iRest follows the tradition of yoga nidra. This means the practice takes you on a journey through what yogic philosophy calls the koshas (the feeling, breath, mind, wisdom, and joy bodies) to facilitate deep rest and healing. It is practiced for specific benefits: to induce profound relaxation; eliminate stress; overcome insomnia; solve personal and interpersonal problems; resolve trauma; and neutralize and overcome anxiety, fear, anger, and depression.
If you are thinking, “Can it really do all that?” The answer is, “Yes. All that!”
In an iRest practice you enter a deep state of relaxation all while remaining aware and alert which uncovers your innate intelligence and intrinsic clarity. It’s all right there waiting for you. This amazing practice offers so much and it simply involves lying down, listening, and staying awake for 30 to 40 minutes. This practice can change your life.
In this online class, we use mindfulness techniques and adapt yoga poses to your body promoting increased elasticity, strength, balance, decreased reactivity, and sense of well-being.
Mindful Movement safely and positively stresses your body’s fascial plains. This mindful practice promotes great insights as to how we hold tension, move (or do not move) our bodies, and how we relate to the sensations in the body.
This class includes mind-body activities to increase awareness of habits that impact our health, and provides techniques that can be applied in daily life to create opportunities to re-pattern our movements and support improved health.
Gentle Yoga at 10:00 am eastern on Tuesdays (in person) and 5:00 pm eastern on Thursdays (in person and online) through Yoga Garden.
Gentle Yoga is a slower moving class that focuses on mindfully lengthening and strengthening the body with passive and supported postures, gentle flowing sequences, and breath work.
We’ll find poses gradually and use props and dynamic movement to settle in to our bodies and calm our minds.
We’ll protect our joints while gently building strength and safely stretching the whole body. This class is perfect for those who are just beginning their yoga practice or for anyone seeking a more relaxed approach to their practice.
The Thursday class ends with 15 minutes of Yoga Nidra.
