Meditation
Meditation isn’t something that came easily to me. I resisted it for years despite all the research that says meditation can improve the functioning of your mind, brain and body.
Meditation isn’t something that came easily to me. I resisted it for years despite all the research that says meditation can improve the functioning of your mind, brain and body.
I started out with a daily 10 minute meditation practice that was offered in my first yoga teacher training. I suddenly had more patience with my family. I could think more clearly. My attention span was better. I could get more work done in shorter periods of time. But, I’ll admit, I didn’t like the practice itself. I dreaded doing it so I started exploring. I now understand that there are a number of different meditation techniques. Usually a meditation teacher teaches you the one that worked for them, but that doesn’t mean that same technique will appeal to everyone.
As a meditation mentor, my goal is to help you find a meditation technique that works for you.
Some people prefer to focus on compassion, others on thoughts, others on the breath, and others on mantra. Some people prefer to be led, some prefer more open space. There are a number of techniques I teach including iRest meditation. iRest is a research based practice that effectively alleviates PTSD, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, depression, and chemical dependency. My goal as a meditation mentor is to help you find the technique that brings more peace and ease into your life. Book your complimentary 15-minute call or first session to get started.
